Description

The HS407C-X3-RD is the 2026 revision of Holosun’s full-size pistol optic, built on the RMR footprint that most optics-ready duty and competition slides are cut or plated for. The reticle is a single 2 MOA red dot: precise enough to shoot to the edge of a pistol’s mechanical accuracy, without a circle competing for attention. The X3 revision reinforces the housing, which is 7075-T6 aluminum, hard anodized, sealed to IP67 and rated to 5000G of vibration.

Power management is where this generation moved. A forward-facing photodiode reads the light in front of the shooter rather than behind, and works with Solar Failsafe to set brightness automatically and back up the battery; manual control with memory and lockout is there when the shooter wants to override it, with the lockout keeping a setting from getting bumped in a holster. Shake Awake sleeps the optic when the pistol sits still and wakes it the instant it moves, and the CR1632 loads from a side tray, so the battery gets changed without pulling the optic off the slide and without re-zeroing.

Compatibility & Fitment

Slide Cut Required Trijicon RMR pattern, which also covers SRO-cut slides. No plate, mount, or riser is included. A slide cut directly for the RMR takes this optic as-is; an optics-ready pistol that uses a plate system needs the maker’s RMR plate, sold separately.

Host Platform Fit RMR is the most widely supported pistol footprint, so plate availability is rarely the problem. Check the pistol against Holosun’s fit chart before ordering; slide cuts vary between models from the same maker and between production years of the same model.

Iron Sight Co-Witness Not published for this optic. Whether the factory sights co-witness through the window depends on the depth of the slide cut or the thickness of the plate and the height of the sights on that specific pistol; many pistols need suppressor-height sights to co-witness. Confirm on the platform before promising it.

Does Not Fit This is a pistol optic and does not mount to a rail. It does not fit Picatinny, Weaver, ACRO, RMSc, Holosun K, or Docter footprints, and it is too large for a micro-compact slide cut for the RMSc pattern.
