The MB47 operates on a gas-operated, semi-automatic action chambered in 7.62x39mm. What sets it apart from the AK crowd is the receiver: a billet-milled block of 4140 steel, heat-treated to RC41, and patterned after original milled Bulgarian receivers. This isn’t a stamped sheet-metal build — the machined construction eliminates receiver flex and contributes to consistent performance shot after shot.
Modern features are spec’d in where they matter. A US Palm free-float M-Lok handguard keeps accessories mounted and the barrel fully free-floated. The Magpul DT carbine stock rides on an AR mil-spec buffer tube, giving the MB47 an adjustable length of pull that most AK variants simply don’t offer. A RAK-1 flat-faced trigger provides clean, repeatable break. The 16.25″ chrome-lined fluted barrel threads to 5/8×24 and ships wearing the Century Arms Chevron Compensator — designed to redirect gas upward and reduce muzzle rise for faster, more controlled follow-up shots.
