The Howa Mini Hunter is a compact bolt-action rifle built on Howa’s MiniAction platform, chambered in 6mm ARC — a cartridge engineered for high ballistic efficiency from shorter actions. The 20″ cold-hammer-forged barrel is wrapped in carbon fiber, reducing overall rifle weight while maintaining barrel rigidity, and is threaded at the muzzle to accept suppressors or other muzzle devices. The thread pitch is 5/8×24, a standard pitch for 6mm/.243-caliber rifles, compatible with suppressors such as the SilencerCo Omega 300 and muzzle brakes such as the Area 419 Hellfire. The barrel is cut with a 1:8″ twist rate, stabilizing the full range of 6mm ARC projectile weights. The machined receiver pairs with a forged, lightened one-piece bolt featuring two locking lugs, an M-16 style extractor and ejector for reliable feeding and extraction, and tool-less firing pin removal for field maintenance.

The MiniAction’s two-stage match trigger is designed for consistent, repeatable break characteristics, and the 3-position safety allows safe bolt manipulation independent of the firing state. The HTI® synthetic stock is pillar-bedded for consistent receiver-to-stock fitment and includes a recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The rifle feeds from a detachable 5-round magazine. Howa specifies SUB-MOA accuracy (3-shot group at 100 yards) with quality factory ammunition. Made in Japan.
