Description

Hornady’s American Whitetail line is built around the InterLock bullet, a soft-point hunting projectile with a raised ring embedded in the jacket wall that mechanically locks the jacket to the lead core. This prevents core-jacket separation on impact, improving weight retention and allowing the bullet to transfer energy deeper into the target. The exposed lead tip initiates expansion reliably, while the tapered jacket controls how far it opens.

This loading drives the 180-grain bullet at 2,700 fps with 2,913 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The heavier bullet weight offers better sectional density and momentum retention at range compared to 150-grain alternatives, which matters on quartering shots or when punching through brush. Loaded in new-production, reloadable brass with Boxer primers and non-corrosive propellant. Manufactured in Grand Island, Nebraska, USA.
