Description

The HM3X is Holosun’s answer to the magnifier problem: a red dot is fast up close and vague past a couple hundred yards, and the HM3X extends the same optic out to distance without touching its zero. It sits behind any 1x red dot and triples the image, so the dot the shooter already trained on becomes usable for identifying and hitting smaller targets at range. The glass is clear edge to edge, the eye box is forgiving for a magnifier in this class, and the whole assembly is short enough to fit behind a sight on a carbine-length rail.

Running it is a one-hand job. The ambidextrous flip-to-side mount swings the magnifier out of the way when the shooter wants the bare dot back, and the quick-detach lever pulls the unit off the rail entirely without tools. An adjustable diopter sharpens the picture to the individual shooter’s eye, and integrated windage and elevation let the magnifier be aligned to the dot rather than forcing the dot to move. The included spacer sets the optical height to match either an absolute or a lower 1/3 co-witness sight, and the sealed, nitrogen-purged aluminum housing keeps water and fog out.

Compatibility & Fitment

Rail Space Required Approx. 4.5″ of continuous Picatinny behind the red dot: 3.9″ for the magnifier body plus mounting clearance, with open space to the left of the rail for the unit to flip clear.

Host Platform Fit Flat-top AR-15 and AR-10 upper receivers, and any Picatinny-railed rifle or shotgun with enough continuous rail behind the sight. Charging handle and rear backup sight clearance should be checked before ordering.

Co-Witness Height The included spacer sets the magnifier to either absolute or lower 1/3 optical height, so it pairs with most Picatinny-mounted red dots, not only Holosun sights. Match the spacer to the height of the sight in front of it or the two will not line up.

Does Not Fit This is a rail-mounted magnifier only. It does not attach to an optic, a receiver-cut footprint, M-LOK, or Weaver-only rails, and it is not a standalone sighting device; it has no reticle and must be run behind a red dot.
