The Beretta M9 is the commercial production version of the pistol that served as the U.S. Armed Forces’ standard-issue sidearm for decades. Built on the proven 92 Series platform, it operates via a short-recoil, tilting-locking-block action with a traditional double-action/single-action trigger — the first pull from a decocked hammer is double-action, with subsequent shots firing in single-action mode. The M9 is built on an aluminum alloy frame with a Bruniton matte black finish, which provides corrosion resistance without the reflectivity of polished metal.
