Description
Liberty Ammunition is a U.S. manufacturer based in Bradenton, Florida, known for its Civil Defense self-defense line. The Ultra-Lights build on that platform by pairing Liberty’s Civil Defense projectile with Shell Shock Technologies’ NAS3 case, cutting overall cartridge weight roughly in half versus a standard brass-cased load of the same caliber.
The 50-grain copper, monolithic fragmenting hollow point is lead-free and loaded to +P pressure, leaving the muzzle at 2,040 fps for 462 ft-lbs of energy. In gel testing it penetrates to roughly 12 inches and opens a wound cavity over 3.5 inches wide, with sub-1-inch accuracy at 25 meters. The NAS3 case is a two-piece nickel-alloy body with an aluminum base, boxer-primed and roughly twice the tensile strength of brass at half the weight, which also helps trim felt recoil for faster follow-up shots.
