The PX4 Storm Compact fills the space between the full-size PX4 Storm and the PX4 Storm Sub-Compact, offering a reduced overall length of 6.8 inches and a 3.27-inch barrel while retaining a full grip profile and the standard 15-round magazine capacity. This makes it viable for concealed or open holster carry without sacrificing hand purchase or shootability. The "F" variant is compatible with full-size PX4 Storm magazines, extending ammunition capacity options for users who carry or train with both the full-size and compact platforms.

The defining mechanical feature of the PX4 Storm Compact is its rotary barrel system, in which the barrel rotates axially during the firing cycle rather than tilting. This redirects recoil forces radially rather than rearward, reducing felt recoil and enabling faster return to target for follow-up shots. The pistol operates on a traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger mechanism with a manual safety and an automatic firing-pin block for passive drop safety. Controls are fully ambidextrous — the slide lock and manual safety are mirrored on both sides of the frame, and the magazine release is reversible for left- or right-hand use. The polymer frame accepts three interchangeable backstraps (included) to adjust grip circumference. An integrated accessory rail on the dust cover accommodates lights and lasers, and a retractable lanyard loop is built into the frame. Sights are user-adjustable.
