Frequently asked questions
A standard transfer is any Title I firearm (handgun, rifle, shotgun) purchased elsewhere and shipped to us. An NFA transfer is a Title II item regulated under the National Firearms Act: suppressors, short-barreled rifles or shotguns, machine guns, and AOWs.
Yes. We don’t currently file Form 4 applications on a customer’s behalf. The item needs to already be legally transferable before it arrives at Anvil Armory.
In limited cases, yes. A 2026 federal court ruling allows certain suppressors purchased through specific retailers, including Palmetto State Armory, to transfer to eligible buyers without a Form 4 or waiting period. This is new, narrow, and still evolving. Contact us before you order and we’ll confirm whether your purchase qualifies.
No. The transfer must be completed by the person named on the 4473 or Form 4.
Not all transfers can be accepted. Always contact us before you order so we can confirm we’re willing and able to take it.
